nearly back to ‘normal’.. just waiting for two people to arrive online, and add my new [old spare] number..

in the mean time today, i had an odd experience of coming to the rescue of the stage production supervisors.. one of the other writers/cast had written a scene, and emailed it to them.. however, he’s new to computers, on a mac, new to mac, new to email, and had sent the file in what Lou had called an “odd format” that they couldn’t open.. i figured he had probably sent it as a SimpleText or AppleWorks file, not realising that PC’s can’t read that format..

when they sent it to me this morning, i realised that it was a QuarkXpress file….

now, Quark is a high-end page layout/graphic design program…

Quark files are fully mac/PC compatible, but i think it’s a bit odd that this guy would have thought that Lou et al would have Quark…

and if he’s new to computers, why the hell is he using Quark? and why is he using Quark for word processing?

anyway, seeing as Princess is studying graphic design/web design, we actually have Quark.. i never bother to use it, cause i never do anything in print layouts.. but all i had to do was open the file, copy the text, and paste into a Word doc.. too easy..

the whole thing baffles me though.. i must ask him why he’s using Quark.. i have to know.
