i did it! i found an app. that extracts sounds from just about any file type.. drag ‘n ‘drop a copy of any program, soundset etc, it extracts the embedded sounds to individual .sfil files. whee! it was hard to find, cause it was acually built for system 7 (keep in mind that i’m on system 9.0.4), but it still works. it’s no longer in production, and no longer supported.. but DAMN i love macinsearch.com for this.
macinsearch is a directory of thousands of mac applications, categorized, and associated with about a hundred ftp and www servers.. very simple, and lacking in 1337 designery, but well worth it. i am impressed sir.
and i have to thank eep for pointing me towards Transit.. ‘s a brilliant little ftp app. which uses that snazzy drag ‘n drop function that macs have, and is made by Panic software (same people that make Audion… mmmm…audion.. the (IMHO) best mp3 player/encoder for mac) Transit only does ftp, whereas Interarchy (which is what i was using) also does traceroute, whois, telnet, traffic watching, connection monitoring etc.. so i’m keeping both.
now to convert the .sfil’s to .wav’s..
